Rain CII Announces Changes to Executive Management Structure

KINGWOOD, TX – JULY 30, 2014 — Rain CII Carbon LLC has announced changes to its executive management structure to better position the Company to face the opportunities and challenges from the marketplace and environmental/regulatory sectors, and to better leverage research and development opportunities with the Rütgers Group. The new structure became effective on July 28.

Mike Tillman, previously VP of Global Raw Materials, will become the Chief Operations Officer (COO). Mr. Tillman will assume responsibility for Plant Operations, ESH, Purchasing, and Terminal Operations. Current Chief Operations Officer Steve Rowland will serve the company in an advisory manner as he transitions toward retirement in the coming years.

Ron Garbarino, in his role as Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), will assume responsibility for all commercial areas with respect to CPC Sales, Raw Materials Procurement, Inventory Management, Production Control, and Logistics.

To emphasize the critical importance of the technical and research and development areas on the future of the company, Les Edwards, previously VP of Technical Services, will take on the newly created role of Chief Technology Officer (CTO). Mr. Edwards’ responsibilities will include Customer Support, Technical Services, Laboratory, and Research and Development, where he will work closely with the Rütgers Innovation team.

In October 2013, Rain CII announced the relocation of its corporate headquarters back to the New Orleans area. Displaced by Hurricane Katrina in 2005, the company has operated from Kingwood, Texas, for nearly nine years. Its new corporate headquarters – a $5.6 million project which includes approximately 38,000 square feet of space – will open in Covington in fall 2014.
