To accomplish strategic and facility objectives through functional support and direction from the Operations Manager and to manage plant operations personnel.
Must have 5+ years’ experience in production environment. Must have 5+ years’ experience with environmental, quality, safety, plant security, housekeeping and training is required. Production experience in the chemical/petrochemical industry is a plus. Operational knowledge of coke calcining and/or power plant operations/waste heat recovery is a plus. Requires good interpersonal skills, organizational skills, communication skills, and planning/time management skills. Preferred qualification/Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; Management experience is a plus. Computer skills: Must have Microsoft office 2010; statistical analysis is a plus.
Reports directly to the Lake Charles Operations Manager. Directly supervises all plant operations personnel on shift. Deals directly with Operations manager, Production Coordinator, Production Coordinator Supervisor, Maintenance Supervisor, Corporate office personnel, Contractors, Suppliers, Lab, and the Community.

Accountable for the execution of activities in the daily Operations Work Plan. Responsible for front-line supervision of Operations workforce.
Accountable for ensuring compliance with plant policies and procedures in accordance with ISO standards.
Establish the daily Work Plan with the Maintenance Planner, Operations Manager and Production Coordinator.
Assist in planning of manpower, material and equipment for routine operational activities.
Responsible for the training and professional development of operational workforce.
Ensure compliance with quality, safety and environmental documentation procedures and requirements.
Provide resources for incident investigation and procedure review/revision process.
Seek opportunities to maximize plant operations efficiency and reliability.
Own the process unit; review all requests for changes to the equipment, operating systems, and process parameters.
Monitor production to ensure that product meets customer specifications/needs, while optimizing process parameters.
Ensure compliance in meeting daily and scheduled operations checklist and preventive maintenance work notifications.
Participate in hiring process.
Participate in housekeeping, safety and environmental audits and execution of corrective action related to those audits.
