Lake Charles, LA – Terminal Production Control Supervisor


Responsible for managing the Lake Charles plant and terminal production control functions in a way that minimizes the cost of goods sold and shipped.  Participates in the production planning process as a member of the Production Control (PC) Team.  Manages Lake Charles green and calcined coke inventory.


The position requires a business or science-related undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience, analytical capability to deal with multiple variables to optimize production and raw material usage.  Strong leadership, clear communication, teamwork, organizational, and computer skills are required.  A high level of self-motivation is essential as well as a demonstration of sound judgment.  Position requires on-call status 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.


This position reports directly to the Plant Manager. This position coordinates their activities with the Plant Manager and Staff at the Lake Charles calciner. Routine internal contacts include Senior Management, Sales, Raw Materials, Logistics, Technical, Operations, and the Laboratory.  External contacts include terminal managers and marine transportation organizations.


  • Supervise Production Control function and related activities at the Lake Charles Terminal including terminal operations personnel, green coke unloading and storage, demurrage, data integrity, sampling, system performance, finished product storage and shipping.
  • Responsible for supervising the Lake Charles green coke and calcined coke storage areas. This includes coordination of operators, ensuring standards are met for maintenance and housekeeping of the green coke pad and of the calcined storage areas. Coordinates with the Plant Manager and staff to accomplish these objectives.
  • Responsible for periodic inventory assessments and recommendations as appropriate and for maintaining accurate data/information for calcined and green coke inventory at the Lake Charles plant.
  • Coordinates with the Production Coordinator to achieve efficient forward planning of the green coke unloading and storage, calcined coke transfers, storage, and shipping.
